Storytelling Day 2018
Storytelling Day lived happily ever after!
You can’t beat a happy ending and that is certainly what the Harwich Society’s Ha’penny Pier Visitor Centre’s volunteers experienced at the end of their annual storytelling day.
Almost 100 visitors of all ages took part and enjoyed a wide variety of stories and related activities that saw story telling walks on Ha’penny Pier, games of story cubes and mask making to accompany the fantastic stories told by local authors and Harwich Society volunteers. Lesley Elliot, who co-ordinates children’s activities at the Ha’penny Pier Visitor Centre, says, “It was a truly lovely day. It started slowly but built and built to the point where the visitor centre was packed. Everyone clearly enjoyed themselves, not least the Harwich Society’s Ha’penny Pier volunteers!”
Harwich Society chairman, Colin Farnell, says, “Storytelling Day is a very special event that gets more popular every year. Our volunteers thought of it, developed it ran it and now have an annual success that gives so much pleasure to a lot of people. It’s a story with a very happy ending!”
