VIDEO: Harwich Society Charity Carol Singing 2017 - Proceeds to the Electric Palace Restoration Fund

Hark the Harwich Society sing!
The pubs and restaurants of Historic Harwich were filled with the sound of Christmas carols last Thursday evening as the Harwich Society carried out its annual charity carol singing. The event has become a firm favourite amongst those enjoying the festive food and drink within the old town and Christmas songs and carols were sung in 10 venues throughout the evening. Everyone was happy to join in the carol singing before placing generous donations into the collection tins.
This year’s chosen charity was Harwich’s Electric Palace Trust and £230 was raised for this very good cause.
The event was organised by the Harwich Society’s Social Group and the evening ended in its traditional manner with mince pies and mulled wine in the home of the Social Group’s chairlady, Anna Rendell-Knights.
Anna Rendell-Knights says, “This is an evening that we all look forward to and the response from those in the pubs and restaurants is always very warm and incredibly generous. Once again, it was shown that there is no better place to be at Christmas than our very special town.”
