Seventeen members of the Frinton and Walton Heritage Trust visited Historic Harwich last Thursday as the guests of the Harwich Society. After a guided walk around the old town conducted by Society president, Bernie Sadler, the group enjoyed cream teas at the Harwich Society’s headquarters, Foresters, before visiting the LV18 lightship.
Bernie Sadler says, “We have enjoyed a close relationship with the Frinton and Walton History Society for many years and it is always a pleasure to meet up. It was the first time they had toured Foresters which they found particularly interesting and the LV18 light vessel is now another gem in Harwich’s tourism offer.”
Later on in the year the Harwich Society will be visiting Frinton and Walton and Bernie Sadler is sure the visit will be equally enjoyable. “With so much history on our doorstep you don’t need to travel long distances to find something fascinating,” he continued. “We are so fortunate to have so much of interest within our district.”
